The national flag of India every year hosted on the Red Fort in Delhi and this is a public event and holiday in India .Independence Day, we celebrate every year on 15 August, We celebrate this occasion because of nation's independence from the British Empire on 15 August 1947. Which was possible because of many Independence Movement held largely on that tough period .
On 15 August 1947, Jawahar lal Nehru, become the first Prime Minister of India raised our national flag above Lahore Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi.as that time on every Independence Day, the prime minister raise the flag and give a speech.
On this occasion flag- hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural events are organised everywhere in this country by all age groups adults , kids, youngsters etc.
Indians display the national flag on their accessories, homes and vehicles for showing love for their country and also listening patriotic songs, watching patriotic movies with family and friends.
On the festival of Independence Day, the President of India always "Address to the Nation". On 15 August, the prime minister Mr. Narendra modi will hoist the
Indian flag on the Red Fort in Delhi. Twenty-one gun shots as always will be fired in
honour of this fest.
In his speech, the prime minister tells the past year's achievements, some important issues and further development of nation with paying tribute to the fighters of the Indian independence movement . The Indian national anthem, "Jana Gana Mana" is sung by all Indians on this day. After the speech march of the Indian Armed Forces we can see with some cultural activities . Parades acts scenes from the independence struggle and Indian cultural traditions.
